University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences use the same electronic examination system. Electronic examination system (E-exam) is an easy way to perform an exam at a time and a place most convenient to you. Carefully read the instructions on this site before enrolling in electronic exam.

Current issues

Paper-based exams must always be performed in your home campus

Always performs paper exams on your own campus. If not, answer papers will not be automatically sent to your teacher.

Students perform paper exams at their own risk. Acting against the rules, you might be obligated to retake the test.

Shared electronic examination between Oamk and University of Oulu

Students of Oamk and University of Oulu use the same electronic examination system. Therefore also the four exam rooms for electronic examination are in common use. Students of Oamk can perform electronic exams in the university campuses and university students can perform e-exams in Oamk campuses. There is no need to use the exam visit computers in Oulu for Oamk and university students.

Coronavirus

Students must follow coronavirus instructions and hygiene guidelines designated in University of Oulu and Oulu University of Applied Sciences. Its is strictly forbidden to participate in electronic exam in case of illness.

Electronic examination rooms are provided with hand sanitizers and face masks.

For the present half of the computers in examination rooms are not in use to ensure the safety gaps.

Electronic examination

General instructions

  1. Log in the Exam-system at https://exam.oulu.fi. Use your academy-specific username and password. We recommend that you use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome.
  2. General exam: open the exams-tab and search for the exam you are supposed to enroll in. You can search for the exam by the course code, the name of the exam or the name of the examiner (=teacher). Read more information about the exam by clicking the name of the exam. Personal exam: you will receive an e-mail of a personal exam after your examiner has created one for you. You will find the personal exam on the reservations tab in the Exam system.
  3. Make a reservation to an exam by clicking register for the exam or book an exam time. Then choose the exam room and the time where and when you wish to perform the test. Click confirm exam time.
  4. You will receive a reservation confirmation via e-mail. If needed, you can change or cancel the reservation.
  5. In the reservation confirmation you will find information about which exam computer the exam system has chosen for you. Before taking the test, be on time by the exact exam computer.
  6. Log in the computer by the rules in the exam room. Open the browser and log in the Exam system by your academy-specific username and password.
  7. Exam will take you to the test automatically. Just wait for the examination to start. Answer questions, check and click save and submit.
  8. Close the browser and log out from the computer.
  9. When the examiner has evaluated your assessment, you will receive an e-mail notification.

Performing an electronic examination you commit to the rules and terms of the electonic examination system (below). Carefully read the instructions. Breaking the rules might lead to the disqualification of your assessment.

Premises

Exam rooms and opening hours

The students in Oulu University of Applied Sciences and in University of Oulu can perform electronic exams on four different campuses: Linnanmaa campus, Oamk Kontinkangas campus, Dentopolis campus and Oamk Oulainen campus.

Please note, that the entrance to the exam rooms is bound to the opening hours of the campus buildings: the campus opening hours of the Oamk and the campus opening hours of the University of Oulu.

The students of the University of Oulu have a possibility to apply for a 24/7-access key to the campuses of Linnanmaa and Dentopolis. More information on the 24/-access key.

All the exam rooms are closed on holidays.

The exams start at sharp hours. The door opens 5 minutes before the beginning of the exam and will stay open 15 minutes after the beginning of the exam. If you are late and the door is locked, contact the janitors for letting you in.

The Exam-system and the exam rooms are out of order 

  • on the first Wednesday of every month at 8am-10am 
  • on the third Monday of every month at 8.30am-10.30am
